The staff, the food, the ambiance, the sea, the people, the live band, the fireworks, and everything, was a whole new thing. It was very special.

To the management and staff, thank you for making our stay enjoyable. Keep up the good work po.”

We’re All In This Together

Dear guests,

All around the world, the coronavirus has had a profound effect on the lives and economies of people from all walks of life. Each day brings new developments and we are still unsure about how or when this pandemic will be resolved. It’ll take some time the experts say, but this too shall pass.

Right now, time is what we have a lot of, as we stay at home to protect each other. So in this issue, we’d like to share with you some ideas and tips on how to make the most of your quarantine time. From meditation to exercise to cooking, there’s a variety of activities we can all try to make the best use of our days.

For us at Matabungkay, we’re using this time to maintain the resort. Our stay-in housekeeping team follow the WHO guidelines for disinfecting and cleaning as well as social distancing.

This way, our guests who had to postpone their stays with us can expect to come back to a Matabungkay that is fresh and rejuvenated. We know that when this pandemic is over, everyone will want a vacation from this ordeal.

Stay tuned on our social media sites for updates on what we have in store for you in the future. We know times are tough, but let’s look to the future with hope and plans. These are the things that can help us in our day to day. Stay safe and we will see you at Matabungkay soon!

Matabungkay Beach Hotel

Welcome Back!

The pandemic has affected the world in ways no one has ever imagined and it looks like it’s here to stay for a while. But as we all yearn for the “good ol’ normal days”, we’re hit with the realization that we’re better off accepting the “new normal”. Once you’ve accepted the new ways of things, it’s a lot easier to move forward.

And moving forward is exactly what’s happening as we reopen our doors to you, dear guests, on October 31, 2020. The local government has given Matabungkay Beach Hotel the go signal to resume operations under strict protocols.

Fortunately, our staff has used the last several months preparing themselves and the hotel to operate under the new normal procedures. This means, changing the way we do things for the foreseeable future so that we can bring you much needed rest and relaxation amidst all this shared anxiety. We want to assure you, dear guest, that your safety and enjoyment is our utmost concern.

Summer is for Everyone

If you’re an adult and a parent like me, then you must have muttered these words at some point in your life: “summer is for kids” (or its cousin, “Christmas is for children”). That comes as no surprise. Being an adult means a steady stream of real-world responsibilities in the form of work, bills, routines, meetings etc. Things we used to enjoy when we were students, like two-month vacations every year, are now a thing of the past – or something only our kids look forward to as their school calendars come to a close.
